David Whyte, P. Eng. completed a degree from the University of Toronto (Electrical Engineering - 1974), holds a Professional Engineering License and is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).

He has over 25 years of engineering, practical and management experience in the telecommunications industry in Canada and internationally, holding positions of increasing responsibility at CN Telecommunications, CNCP Telecommunications, Unitel, AT&T Canada and CTI Datacom. His responsibilities during this period included a wide variety of telecommunications network and service design, development and implementation for voice, data and Internet.

Since 1999, he is the Managing Principal at CTI Datacom responsible for providing Strategy, Architecture and Network Development services to Canadian and international clients in the competitive telecommunications industry and to medium and large enterprise customers.

He is a past IEEE Toronto Section Chair, Communications Society Chapter Chair and is currently Vice President and Chair of the Grants Committee of the IEEE Canadian Foundation.
